Casshern Sins the animated series

Casshern
Casshern Sins

I encountered this anime on netflix. The plot is pretty simple to understand yet this anime was compelling to finish. This anime was drawn with some detail but not to much, it was elegant to watch.
The story starts out with this character in all white without a scratch on him. He apparently has done something very traumatic and unforgivable. Casshern has killed "the sun called moon". Mortality is a thing for only humans to worry about. There are not many humans left in the world, they all tend to be wanderers watching the ruin destroy the robots....however once the sun called moon was killed the world began to succumb to 'ruin'. This is the main idea behind the storyline.

Buraiking Boss

There is a massive robot army lead by a big baddie named Buraiking Boss (Braiking Boss), but he has left his armies in search for an answer to the 'ruin'. All the robots have gone crazy about their sudden mortality and really want to destroy Casshern. He is unarmed except for some really weird pistols that never get used except for jet propulsion. Casshern can easily dispatch foes with his bare hands....except for some other androids who are trying to take over the world. They are built in the same style as Casshern however they are succumbing to ruin slowly....the lead android is a woman with some interesting armor, she has interesting weapons that actually get used as swords once or twice.

Casshern vs robot
Eventually Casshern and his crew, a robot dog called friender, some humans and a small child robot,  discover that the sun called moon, Luna, was actually killing robots not healing them....however there has been whispers about a new Luna born to end the ruin. I don't want to spoil too much, but this simplistic serious drama is a definite must see for all anime fans.

Series finale this spring will feature Teds sometimes girlfriend Victoria. She will be appearing in season 9's 19th episode. How I Met Your Mother is a must watch...with season 9 coming to a close we will all be very sad that the series is ended...but all good things must end.
Ashley Williams
A lot of people had an opinion about former characters returning...I think Victoria is a great character for Ted and I am very happy to see her back. She is very pretty.

Mad Men the Television Series by AMC

 Mad Men

This tv series Mad Men on the surface is all about the glamour and drama of Madison Avenue during the birth of advertising. The men are wealthy and every executive office is complete with a liquor bar. Red lips are perfectly set on the faces of women in dresses looking to please all the men around them. Entertaining clients to their fullest means drinks during meetings, drinks after meetings at lunch or dinner and a host of other shenanigans that involves female company and a near fraternity like atmosphere.

However there is so much time spent on developing the characters and relationships that you soon find yourself watching a dramatized history lesson on world events and the social progression of race, class, and gender in the early 1960’s.

Some of the favorite characters include Joanie aka “Red” who is great at using all her physical and mental assets to earn the respect of the men she works with. Don Drapper is unapologetic man who gets what he wants all the time, and you’ll find yourself hating and loving him in unison.
Betty Drapper is the mother who is emotionally a child and viewers would like to send her to a time out. She is a stereotypical 1960’s suburban housewife, except this housewife takes her frustration out on her young and impressionable daughter, Sally.
These men are mad.

Pushing Daisies a television series

Pushing Daises is another one of those lovely tv series that was being written right about the time of the writers strike...it only got to one season, but that season was pretty good.
The premise is fairly simple, the main character 'pie maker' has the ability to bring people back from the dead with his first touch and then his second touch will make them dead again.
There is a consequence to the use of his ability however...if he brings something back to life and does not put it back it its proper place something else must die as equal exchange. he figures out his ability when his mother dies randomly and he brings her back on accident. The father next door drops dead soon after....unfortunatly the pie makers mom dies later that night when she gives her son a goodnight kiss.
First touch life....second touch death.
The kids at school tease him so when it was time for a biology lesson the boy touches all the frogs before they get cut open and all the little kids freak out. Soon after a bunch of other small animals are found dead.
Eventually the pie maker figures out he has a total of 60 seconds after they are braught back to life...if he waits any longer someone else must die in their place.
He grows up to own a pie store full time and works on the side with a private detective the rest of the time. He likes to buy old produce because its cheaper and with one touch all the fruit is ripe and delicious again.
The plot starts to get interesting when he brings his crush back to life and they try to work out a relationship without touching. They also have to work out a way to keep her newly found life a secret from the people who know she is dead.
For being sort of dark and depressing this series is quite funny and enjoyable to watch. The person who narrorates...the very same man who narrorates the Harry Potter series....keeps the episodes light and comical.
The pie maker and the private detective team up to solve difficult murder crimes. Because of the pie makers special skill the duo usually figures out the true crime and makes sure the right people are punished. The series is quite entertaining to watch as the plot thickens and the pie maker finds himself in sticky situations.
