Today my basil sprouts were transplanted!

I figured it was time to take them out of their tiny little jars and put them into something more suitable for basil. So my idea was to grab a small bucket and put a few layers of large stones at the bottom to allow space for water to drain out of the soil.
The first layer I used was some rounded granite rocks and for the second layer I decided on something more porous ...like volcanic rock. I have two layers to hold open space for water to move through now and then I simply added a bunch of soil.

I watered the soil a few times the first day without any plants in the unit so the soil would settle. Which brings us to today when the little sprouts needed to be moved. I used a little flat head screwdriver to make holes for the roots.

I have given my little basil plants a while to grow and they are progressing very nicely. At this point they even smell delicious. However as you will see...they are no where near ready to eat. The poor little sprouts are over crowded and need a more proper place.

 It seems the basil plants in the little ceramic pots are growing the best....however it took them longer to germinate. I assume there was a problem with keeping the soil moist.





These ones in the glass jar were the first to sprout and as you can see they are the first to have major second leaf growth. They all smell delicious at this point and I can't wait to eat them!

Tiny Basil Sprouts

 Basil has been pretty easy to grow so far all it really takes is a little patience, water and sunlight....anyhow they are progressing very well...

My basil plants are only sprouts but...

I've initiated the best movement I can think of to have going in the background of my main project...
Unfortunately my little plants are hardly sprouts...They started as little seeds in a small packet in the discounted isle at target. I saw these little gems and decided I must have a few different types of herbs around the house...so I decided to start with cilantro and basil.

This is my tiny attempt to grow some plants...Currently I have 1 10 watt compact florescent light...

The single light seems to be doing the trick. I had problems with the basil plants I initially put in the pots they came in from the store. I later realized the seeds themselves need to be wet and warm for a while before they will even sprout. so I had to add some thick soil to cover the top in order to keep the sun for drying the seeds out.

Be the Source...the source for everything

This is the new ravage direction....Be the source. Everything I want and everything I need I will have. My very first plants are beginning to germinate and I can see little green sprouts popping up out of the soil. This makes me very happy to know I can make something as simple as plant growth happen. I want to begin very small and simple and slowly make my way to bigger and rarer plants.

I am currently looking for potential customers interested in fresh basil...it will still take a few weeks before any leaves will be ready to consumption.

This is just the beginning of the first phase. Ravage Ritual is not about a video game anymore...its still a game though just now it is a game about my life...java is still on my list of things to do and I should have plenty of time in the future to learn about programming.
