Ravage Approved: Studio Ghibli

Studio Ghibli is my favorite animated video production company founded in June 1985. It is paired up with Disney so most of these movies are good for kids to watch and also interesting for adults to watch.

However some of these movies have a good amount of adult content. I have seen almost all of them and I will briefly describe my favorite ones.

Princess Mononoke - Kodama 

1. Princess Mononoke  - A cute tale of a young prince that has been cursed by a forest demon. Now that young prince must leave his dying village in an attempt to cure himself and right the world.

Howl's Moving Castle

2. Howls Moving Castle - Another cute love story. A great wizard fighting both sides of the same war finds a wandering old lady out in the "wastes". This old lady happens to be a young girl that has been cursed by a fat witch who is after Howls heart.

Spirited Away

3. Spirited Away - A little girl and her family are moving. They happen to get side tracked and wander through an abandoned theme park. The parents wander to a buffet and start eating...and keep eating and eating. The little girl refuses food and begins to wander. Soon her parents turn into pigs and soon spiritual apparitions begin to fill up the abandoned park.



4. Laputa - castle in the sky - Funny how all these stories are generally centered around a young spirit filled girl. This one starts out with a girl in distress being held captive in a large dirigible. She falls out of the aircraft and a magical gemstone nullifies gravity enough for her to float softly to the ground. The rest of the movie is about two forces trying to obtain the secrets of Laputa. Which is a massive floating island.

5. Tales from earthsea - This story revolves around a young boy who kills his father the king and steals his sword. Soon after a wizard finds the young man and helps him stay out of trouble. This story is a little slow for me but eventually the good wizard fights the bad wizard. The young man and a young girl overcome the black mage and restore balance to the world

Better Sales techniques = Using Archetypes

Money Archetypes- Psychological research ( the Livingston Group) has shown that people often relate themselves to an Archetype and communicating with this Archetype can make ones marketing message much more powerful IE. Abused/misunderstood/frightened child. These archetypes are not just what they see themselves as but also the situation and other protagonists IE. The Villain boss or society, The helper hero, etc.

It works very well when you can identify the customers self perception. The questions you ask seem to be the key to knowing what archetype they most associate with at the moment. The formal investigation used cards with pictures to identify archetypes. In selling one has to subtly ask questions that revel this. “Do you sometimes feel this whole system is against you?”
Since I am new to this, if some of you have an idea as to what questions might be reveling I would appreciate input that you might want to give.

So before you try and push any idea...think first, find out what motivates your customer...then design a plan to make them feel comfortable with your product...or service or whatever.

This is my all time favorite Studio Ghibli films. The main idea here is the greed of humans to kill off whatever is in the way in order to make a profit.

The movie starts with a young man riding a red elk in a hidden rural village. Apparently there is something wrong happening, but we don't know what. The prince goes to investigate and finds a demon about to attack his village. The prince distracts the demon from attacking some young villagers and in return he gets touched by this beast and is cursed. The curse begins to eat away at his skin and will eventually consume his soul. The village elders gather to try and help the prince decide what he must do. He cuts off his top knot and leaves his peaceful village forever in search of some cure. He begins to travel west and eventually he meets up with an odd traveler (Billy bob Thornton) who leads the prince to Iron Town.
 

The leader of the iron town is a malicious woman bent on world domination. She has taken a bunch of brothel women and people stricken by leprosy. The women pump the bellows to smelt iron and the lepers engineered guns that would use the iron retrieved from the nearby mountain.
There once were many large animals that would protect the forest that grew on the mountain, but the lady slowly killed them all.

Watch the movie if you really want to know what happens.
Anyhow my favorite part of the movie is when we get to see these little spirits called Kodama.

Ravage Approved. Jello Shots of every kind!

A friend just sent me this link that shows you how to make a dozen different kinds of jello shots.
These little adult snacks are somewhere between frozen dessert and an alcoholic beverage...defiantly perfect for the big upcoming holiday.

I am trying to help narrow down the jello shot category for the fourth of July party but these all look sooooo good. The frozen ones are a must have for any outdoor parties....
